|  This week: "Only 12" 8-06-98
Is it just because a coincidence, that a lot of pages we disagree with are
designed by fans at the age of 12? Reminding you, there are many 12 year olds who run
very successful pages! A lot of them better than others too! (A few have been
reviewed by the Amazoness Quartet even). Twelve isn't that young at all.
But we make fun of younger webmasters when we don't post our real age, saying we're
twelve, or declare a flamer 12, because of their immaturity. I know a lot of
twelve year olds, who speak much more mature than people older than that age...
In guestbooks we say,
"Wow, you have a nice site... are you really 12?" If you're older than the age of 12,
can you remember if you were stupid at that age? Probably not, right? Age cannot
be an excuse for someone's performance. Oh, because a 12 year old designs a site
that 95% of the visitors hate, the best defense is to claim that he/she is
only 12? "Only 12, for God's sake" ... uh huh, this is from the Haruka shrine
that plagiarizes Sky Senshi @ the Racetrack, her older brother tries to defend her
by claiming that she's still young, but he's also claiming that she's too stupid to
design a good site because she's still young. If someone tried to defend me that way,
I'd be pretty angry.
I know... most of my favorite sites are designed by people who are at least over
the age of 15. So are you saying, that people younger than that age have no talent and
chance of designing webpages until they grow old enough? All of us become more
intelligent than the day before as we age. All of us have different abilities at
certain ages, some are slower/faster than others. I even disapprove of a site designed
by a 17 year old! But age is really no excuse for your skills and performance.
Good pages, require heavy research in Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon and webdesign
(which most people of any age, should be capable of doing)
and patience, and the desire to perfect a site as much as possible.
The thing that cause most sites to appear as bad, is the lack of reserach, patience,
and attention. A person's age shouldn't be responsible. There's such a large
variety of ages in SM fans.
My final message... try not to judge a site by the webmaster's age,
but loook into the site for research, patience, and attention.
