This week: "Praises" 7-1-98
As a web master for my personal Sailormoon pages and as Michiru for
the "M" Squad, I have found numerous pages, including my own, that have
received praises that they don't deserve.
Many are comments like, "YOUR PAGE IS THE BEST PAGE THAT I HAVE EVER
SEEN!!!!" First off, I find it annoying to read caps (no offense Mars)
and second, it's probably not true. It does make any web master feel
great, but if you ever come across a constructive criticism in your
guestbooks or emails, you know your page still needs work.
This doesn't mean that you should go out and yell at people for the
teeny-tiny mistakes one has on their page. It just means to give
constructive critizism to those who are in need and try to be as nice as
possible about it. No one likes to be insulted, but many want to be
corrected.
With the population of the Sailormoon web community on the rise, I'd
have to say that your page can never be the best no matter what others
think. Perfection is a term that no one can define. If there was such a
thing as perfection, we'd all be there and it wouldn't help us achieve a
better goal. Now, if you look at your own page, you have to think before
you say anything. Do you have a really big ego? Do you ever get flamed?
I as an individual have never, in the history of my web existence, been
flamed. Ironic isn't it? If every one was just a tad nicer and spoke the
truth in an orderly fashion, flames wouldn't exist.
After reading this, scan through emails about your web page or
yourself. Any one who writes in complete caps isn't a very reliable
source, ne? Anybody listed on any of the best of web pages in any of our
reviews is definitely someone you can listen to. If you want us to
comment on your page, just e-mail us at smsquad@hotmail.com. You know
that you can always count on us for anything!
